Your financial data is yours alone

Retirement planning means entering sensitive financial details. Time to Retire is built so that information never has to leave your device.

  • 🔒

    No account required

Nothing to sign up for. Paste in the code from your purchase email once, and your browser remembers you after that.

  • 📱

Your financial data stays on your device

Everything you enter runs locally and never touches a server. The one-time check when you unlock the tool only confirms your purchase code — it contains no personal or financial information.

  • 💾

    Saves to your own device

Your inputs are stored in your browser's local storage only. We never see them.

  • 🚫

No tracking, no ads, no analytics

We don't track how you use the tool or what numbers you enter. Ever.

  • ✉️

    No marketing emails

We don't run marketing campaigns. Any email about your order (receipt, download link, updates) comes from Paddle as part of processing it.

  • 💳

    Checkout

Buying the tool requires our payment provider, Paddle, to collect your email and payment details to process the transaction — see our Privacy Policy.

🔐

The numbers you enter never leave your device

Your pension values, savings and personal details never touch a server — not even once. Unlocking the tool only checks your purchase code, which carries no personal information of its own.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How does buying and using this actually work, step by step?
1. Choose a plan and buy — payment is handled securely by Paddle.
2. You'll receive an email with your personal purchase code and a link to the tool.
3. Open that link and paste in your code — you won't be asked again on that same device and browser, unless you clear its data.
4. Read the "Calculations, not advice" notice and confirm you understand, then start entering your numbers on Page 1.
5. If you're on the one-off plan, there's a "Download Backup Copy" button on the Home page any time you want a permanent offline copy.
That's it — no account, no separate download, no installation.
I've lost the email link — how do I get back into the tool?
Just come back to timetoretire.co.uk any time and click "Existing Customers" at the top of the page — no need to dig out the original email. If you're on the same device and browser as before, it'll open straight to your saved plan. If not, you'll just need your purchase code again — see "Do I need to keep my purchase code?" below.
Do I need to keep my purchase code?
Yes — keep it somewhere safe. It's the same code every time; we don't issue a new one. You'll need to enter it again if you switch devices, clear your browser's data, or — on the one-off plan — download a fresh backup copy after we release an update. If you lose it, check the original receipt email from Paddle first, or contact us at hello@timetoretire.co.uk and we'll help you track it down.
How do I use it on my iPad or iPhone?
Just open your link on your iPad or iPhone in Safari or Chrome and enter your purchase code — it works straight away, no download needed. If you'd like it to feel more like an app, you can still add it to your home screen via the Share button → "Add to Home Screen". Tablet is recommended as the charts display best on a larger screen.
What happens when UK tax rules change?
We update the tool whenever significant changes occur — the Finance Act 2024 pension IHT changes are already built in. Because the tool runs from our site, updates apply automatically — there's nothing to download or reinstall. If you're on the one-off plan and using a downloaded backup copy, you'll need to grab a fresh one from the tool to get the latest version.
Is my data safe?
Yes. The financial information you enter — pension values, savings, income, and so on — is stored only in your browser's local storage and never transmitted anywhere. The tool does make one brief check when you first unlock it, to confirm your purchase code is valid — that check contains no personal or financial information, just the code itself. After that it runs fully offline, and we have no access to any of the numbers you enter. Buying the tool is a separate step handled by Paddle, our payment provider, who collects your email and payment details to process your order — see our Privacy Policy for details.
Is this financial advice?
No. Time to Retire is a financial planning and modelling tool — it helps you understand your financial position and explore scenarios, but it does not constitute regulated financial advice under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. We are not authorised or regulated by the FCA. For advice specific to your circumstances, please consult a qualified independent financial adviser.
What happens when I cancel my monthly plan?
Cancelling stops all future payments. You keep access until the end of the month you've already paid for — no partial refunds for the current month.
What if TimeToRetire.co.uk shuts down?
Your financial data is never sent to us, so there's nothing of yours at risk either way. The tool itself normally runs from our site, so if it ever closed, you'd lose access to that hosted version. If you're on the one-off plan, you can protect against this at any time using the "Download Backup Copy" button inside the tool — it saves a permanent, fully offline copy to your own device that needs no server to keep working. This isn't available on the monthly plan, since access there is tied to your active subscription rather than a permanent local copy — this is one of the trade-offs for the lower price.
Can I use it for just one person, not a couple?
Yes — the tool supports both single and couple households. Simply select "Single" from the household type selector and all couple-specific inputs are hidden. The full tool works completely for individual retirement planning.
How does it compare to seeing a financial adviser?
Time to Retire gives you the analytical depth of an adviser-grade tool at a fraction of the cost. It's ideal for understanding your position, running scenarios and preparing for an adviser meeting. It doesn't replace the personalised guidance a good IFA provides — but it means you arrive far better informed.
